Construction is underway on Komatsu’s new distribution centre in Wacol, Queensland, which aims to improve parts and components availability and reduce order turnaround times.
The distribution centre, which will also include elements of Komatsu’s Brisbane parts and components Reman operation, will consolidate four existing distribution and storage centres into a single facility.
The 3.8 hectare-site is adjacent to Komatsu’s existing Queensland head office, service, training and customer support facility. The new distribution centre will cover nearly 17,000 square metres, with an order picking storage area of just under 14,500 square metres, and an extra-large parts components storage area of over 2000 square metres.
